Hey all!

We are having a controversy in my family over the TRUE name of our blue, '87 Westie. My two boys (3 and 5) are big Star Wars fans and have designated it as the "Storm Trooper".

For the wife and I, Gonzo is much more appropriate and has two meanings for us. The first is The Great Gonzo, the "big, blue weirdo" from the Muppet Show. The second, and more accurate, is a la Hunter S. Thompson's drug crazed adventures in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Although we are not drug crazed, we are beginning to feel we must be Gonzo. At the end of the month, we are packing up the boys and our supplies in Gonzo/Storm Trooper and hitting the road for three weeks. We'll be traveling from WA state to CA, through Joshua Tree National Monument and back up through Arizona via the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon. Now that is what I call Gonzo!!! We are already questioning the sanity of this plan.

So, if on some deserted highway in Arizona, in the scorching sun, you see a blue Westie being pushed by a red-headed woman and two small boys, do me a favor and honk twice to give them some encouragement!

Kevin Ainslie '87 Westie-GONZO
