Lets quit picking on how bad our vans are (how bad our engines are and all that) and have some FUN!

Speaking of our Van's names and the story of the newly christened Hermit Crab Westie...I thought it would be neat if there were any stories about why our van's have whatever names they have. I never named my 69, since I never got to know her too much before she was bus-napped from me. My 71 was named MrEd because I love horses and I was watching MrEd on Nick one night while emailing my pal...all of a sudden..hey, perfect name...Mister Ed! Then I got Bessie, the 89 GL...she was named after a little Edwarian roadster on a british SF show, Dr.WHO....the difference was, my Bessie broke down alot. Then I got the silver Carat...I couldn't think of ANYTHING...It started as Erik(the Phantom of the Opera's name because the the front mask it wears) that was dumb so I named it MrEd the 2nd in tribute to my best bus Ed number 1, and so far #2 is living up to it's namesake and is a really great van. Howabout any fun license frames? My rear license frame says(black letter on silver to match): '89 Vanagon Carat

Buslady and MrEd II

on Mr ed #1, black on yellow, Ed was a cheap sprayed yellow...change it to '1971 VW Kombi' (he was a base model) and it said Buslady & MrEd And I painted MrEd on the front bumper on the side and Buslady was on my door. The only things I have of Ed are the frame and his front nose badge that I nicked off a junkyard camper. I miss the ol boy.... I saw a fun frame on a SWEET '67 cal look bug near here that said "I may be late, but Im worth the wait" I thought it was cute! Buslady 1969 Bus (who knows?) 1971 Kombi MrEd(whish I knew where he was) 1989 Vanagon GL Bessie(she could go roll off a cliff) 1989 Vanagon Carat MrEd II(my baby!!!!!!)
