How long are these Vanagons suppossed to last? My 1985 "Goldie-box" has 347,812 miles as of today. I'm the 2nd owner, the first being a retired school teacher who took very good care of her. I got her(the Vanagon....not the school teacher ;) ) a few months ago for $500.00 dollars & have had to put about another $500.00 in her to fix a few minor problems. It was so cheap that I drove it around the block & bought it on the spot. I used to own a 66 vw camper but it was stolen & never recovered. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I saw the a/c compressor, pwr steering pump, and realized she had a radiator!!!What year did all these improvements take place?? I love this Vanagon a lot but miss the "charm" (and quirks) of my old camper. Lonnie
