The 16" Syncros have the engine at the 50 deg angle as well. There is a good picture of the red Double Cab with a TDI mounted at the factory angle.

The problem with a gasoline engine at 50 degrees is that you have to modify the engine compartment wall to make it all work. Plus you have to get the Diesel oil pan and pump. I have checked in to these and they are VERY expensive new and rarer than hens teeth on the used market.
