Rick, As I now have 2 2.1 l's and a diesel, and having wieghed all engine options, I think your thinking is sound. I will stay 2.1l wasserboxer, despite the chatter here on the list about it's problems, I find the 2.1l to be an outstanding engine in nearly every measurement. I would however worry that your EFI controls are possibly not Digifant or of the derivative of Digifant to run the 2.1, this is where you may need some help, that is moving from one EFI system to Digifant as 2.1l's are equipped. It may be no big deal, I just am not sure. Post up to the list who you choose for your rebuild/exchange and the results, there is good data in the archives on the rebuilding houses and Listee satisfaction.
