I forgot to say that the van is 2-wd, and we also have an '87 Quantum syncro stationwagon, an '85 Quantum 2-wd stationwagon, an '89 Golf and have had an '86 GTI. The Hippie-van was purchased as a "demo" back in '87 and has wandered across the country many times. We have no idea of the mileage as the odometer broke many years ago at 57 thousand miles and we figgered it wasn't worth the $150 to replace it as we saw the van as a permanent member of the family. We didn't have the AC fixed as it never really cooled the weekender when it worked and it was God-awful noisy! Of course, we did crank it up that time crossing Death Valley at 125 degrees farenheit! Thanks again for all the advice. I take all the help I can get in this crazy world! You people are NEAT! Valerie Chandler
