Valerie, if you can, check with other vendors on the transmission. Parts Place is a horrible organization to do business with (IMHO) and they are a royal pain in the ass about cores. They won't help you ship it back, and they tend to not want to pay for what they call a "bad" core. Also make absolutely sure that you have the right piece before you install, Parts Place is notorious for sending the wrong parts, repetedly. I wouldn't be surprised if you got a Rabbit tranny.

You might want to email Tony Moore, who lives in Cincinnati, and is on his third Vanagon. He's ordering a EV Westy from a Cincinnati dealer.
