Does anybody have a clue how I might RENT a Weekender in ENGLAND???! I'm taking the whole fam-damily (one husband, two sons, one girlfriend) over for a month this summer and I'm NOT paying for overpriced, stuck up hotels. I told the kids I may make them pitch their backpacking equipment in the graveyard of an abandoned church. Folks over there don't go to church, anyway, they go to the PUB! Hmmm, I betcha we can park a van in some of those pub parking lots! Any advice on where to beg and/or borrow one? Or could I even buy a 4-wd Weekender somewhere and bring it back on a slow boat of some kind?

Since I've ordered the trans from the Parts Place, I'll let you ALL know how it works out! The dealer (Northland VW) has agreed to put it in for $340. Yeah, I could probably have done it cheaper, but if these guys mess up the job (Parts Place and/or Dealer) I'm gonna make sure I get my money's worth.(I'm very good at making scenes! :-) You see, I like to be able to jump in to the vehicle, live out of it and drive for miles and NOT worry about anything important breaking down.

This is the neatest list I've seen since my Quantum syncro list dried up, on account of the fact that list master is now driving a (HORRORS!) SAAB (heated seats, no less!)

Thanks, Volks! Valerie
