For a trip of any distance, I reccomend:

- 2 fire extinguishers (i carry 3)
- AAA or similar road service plan
- tools
- spare belts (at the least)
- 3 gal H2O
- oil
- Bentley
- food
- first aid kit
- tire pump
- before leaving, check wheel balance and alignment, properly inflate
tires, on syncro make sure all 4 have same tread depth.  Pressure test
coolant system.  Change oil.

- i carry my laptop with mapping software and my own small list archive
broken down by system/component (engine, cooling, electric, fuel, etc.)
in case i get stumped out on the road....or worse, while off
road...there have been occassions when I have needed it.
