<< I'd like to check the oil level in the manual transmission on my 1987 Westy Syncro. I haven't done this before, and from what I can tell, the fill point is somewhere on the top of the transmission, towards the front. According to my interpretation, this would put it right under the seat bench metal!

Am I right or is there a simple way I'm overlooking. Thanks for any advice. >> The oil drain hole is no problem to find, but the oil fill hole is on the right side of the trans. in the middle by the shift selector. It's a tight spot to get to. If you have the chance to buy a nice factory repair manual, get one , they are very helpful.. Michael M. 87 syncro.
