Ya I remember actually I believe it was reference to something I wrote about how I was planning to attach my rubber foot well mats back to the foot well after repairing a rust problem on each side. I said that I was going to smear silicone all over the bottom of the mats before i put the new ones on. Someone responded with a very informative notion that silicone eats away the paint and can promote rust in those types of situations... However I don't see how it would be a problem when used on the rubber seal around the glass. The outer most part of seal around the windshield to the surface of the frame I would be cautious about. Thanks for pointing that out Doug I will see what more I can find out. -Chris 87 Syncro GL
