For those who are intested I have a JPG file of my wiring diagram on you I
spliced the CIS system into the Vanagon's system. Pretty simple actually
all you need is GND, 12V when key is on an 12V when cranking. I was amazed
how simple it was!

I used the Vanagon fuel pump and fuel lines for my swap and it runs right
to spec for CIS. Seeing how you are installing this into a Diesel I would
look for a Rabbit setup, cheap and found everywhere - it is almost exactly
the same as the Vanagon anyhow. Yes you will need the check valve.
Without it starting will take a little longer.

Again yes. It isn't hooked up in my 85 Cabrio, but it is worth having. It
will always keep your mixture more or less perfect. This is necessary for
change in altitued etc etc. Also the full throttle enrichment requires it.
If you get an Audi 5000 Turbo warm up regulator with the vacuum line that
comes out of it then you don't need the O2 box for full throttle. If you
do remove the box from the system the frequency valve in the fuel
distributor will just stop and the mixture will be slightly richer. Cured
by adjusting the CO2 manually. Currently I'm running my 1600 at 2.5% CO2
which is a little on the high side, but my timing is 10deg BTDC so I need
all the help I can get... The 1600cc is too small for a 1750kg Syncro!
