David's statistic of "Most people here" must refer to the couple of thousand residents of his small rural logging community. Most people in the rest of the province of British Columbia welcome automatic daytime running lights for their proven safety advantages. In the '80s, before daytime running lights were mandatory on Canadian vehicles, there were an overwhelming number of BC residents who drove with their headlights on during the day, especially in the gray, rainy days of winter. The downside to the "manual" version of daytime running lights is ocassionally forgetting to turn off the lights with the vehicle ignition. DOH! Kelly Bauman Delta, BC '91 Westy |
