I have had a problen with the parking brake locking up after it rains. I have removed the rear drum to inspect and it looks like (among other things) that I need to replace the shoes. The shoe blanks appear to be heavily rusted along with the parking brake lever attached to the blank. I have the following questions: 1. Does the parking brake lever come with new shoes? 2. Is it really necessary to remove the hub to do the shoes, or can I just remove the drums? 3. The cylinders also appear to be rusty, how much is too much? One of the rubber grommets was not properly seated and looks somewhat streched now. Should these be replaced? 4. The two bolts holding the drum to the hub are not present. Should I locate replacement bolts? If so, anybody know what size bolts to get? 5. Finally, since the parking brake does tend to stick after rain, should I replace the cables to the rear wheels while I'm doing this? How much should they cost? Does the Bus Depot carry these?
