In a message dated 98-05-13 17:12:04 EDT, you write: << Towing a Vanagon on two wheels that far is unadvisable, particularly if you have an automatic transmission (the bearings will wear out). I would call U-Haul, Ryder, or whoever has a good deal on a trailer that you can use. The expense is not that bad, in proportion to the cost of the van. I had the willies towing mine 11 miles once- the limit is 20. ~:( >>
actually, this very van that he is towing (its a 4spd, 2WD), i had towed on a tow tolly, (2 wheels on dolly, 2 rolling) with my D*dge Van 318V8 from Conneticut to Pa...and it did just fine. as long as you have it in Neutral, you're ok. (cant tow a syncro like this, tho) chris |
