I just got my brakes re-done on my 1986 Vanagon, My mechanic replaced the cylinders and shoes, cables, etc. The weird thing ( i think??) is he took the old parts to recycle . (O.k. forgive my lack of knowledge..the part he took looked like a C and the pads/shoes attach to it.) I generally trust him...but i was wondering if this seems weird to others. I mean..i don't really need them (obviously they needed to be replaced) but..should i ask for them back?? He normally gives me all the old parts but he seemed like this was a common thing.

i'd appreciate any thoughts on this...

thanks as always.. (one day i'll learn enough to help someone ELSE on this list .. well..a girl can have a dream....;-) ~KaReN~
