The sliding windows on my '84 are supposed to have plastic inserts on the bottom. Without these inserts, the window rides on the aluminum rail. The major problem is that the window is so low, the window lock cannot engage the notches in the track and is therefore unlockable.

Does anyone have a fix for this other than replacing the entire window assembly at great cost. Both sides are like this.
