I'm new to the list, in the westywanabee category, from the Seattle area, who's been following the 87 Synchro price controversy with interest:

I'm considering an '81 Westy with new reblt tranny, new front tires and bushings, gas tank, CV joints, throttle cable, clutch hydrolic cylinder, catalytic converter, air reg. valve. Good compression, all four cylinders. Exc condition paint, interior. Seller claims to have given mechanic carte blanche to get it ready for indefinite live-in travel.

Am I an insane Pacific Nor'westerner to spend $5500 for this vehicle?

christine (who is not mechanically minded.)
