Well, Sears didn't have the socket type. The largest size they had was 10mm for a 3/8 drive. So, I went ahead and purchased the L-shaped 17mm allen. Yesterday I removed the differential plug using it. It came off really easy. The oil and level looked good. I put the plug back on at about 14ft-lbs.

P.S. Before I removed the plug, I cleaned off the area with engine degreaser. You don't want to get any dirt in there. The pan gasket for the final drive was a ridiculous $26 from the dealer. It is only a simple cork gasket! I think I can make one for about $4! And still have enough material to make 10 more!

Again, Thanks for the overwhelming response.
