<< Thanks! Good info, I know I need to do a lot of modifying of the harness, this doesn't bother me. What or where was the diagnostic connector? Is it that funny set of contacts on top of the fuse box? I could fake the speed signal from another input. I have all needed electronic capabilities, so I can make any type of required signal. Maybe when I figure out what wire is the speed signal, I could borrow someones car and scope it to see what the signal should look like and what ratio it has to speed. On the other hand, if it runs well without it I might leave it off. I believe I have all the sensors and wiring, as well as all the smog accesories. The only thing I left was the fuel pump, I figure I can use a standard rabbit one.

What other cars are OBD 2 ? Do you know what OBD stands for?

Thanks again!

-Otmar- >> OBD stands for "ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS" . The OBD connector is located just above the cig. lighter and ash tray. There are four wires going to it. Stick with a vanagon fuel pump, the fuel pressure required to run the your system is 2.3 bar. I forgot what vanagon fuel psi is. The rabbit fuel pump is more of a CSI set up. All 96 or newer cars have OBD 2. 93 to 95 are OBD 1, and require only one O2 sensor, may want to consider that setup also. I hope you are in the USA. Michael M. 87 syncro.
