Volks,
Somehow, (I was -very- careful) I nonetheless ending buggering the
threads on my oil drain plug threaded hole. The plug (steel) is fine of
course, the hole has some threads, and will accept the plug, however I
don't feel very sure about it long term.
I was told that the FLAPS should carry a "kit" to put in an insert
between the plug and the now marginal aluminum threads of the drain plug
hole.
Anyone done this and then repaired? I remembered stripping motorcycle
spark plug holes when a kid and doing the Heli-Coil thing, what a
hassle.
Does VW sell a larger, self-tapping oil plug to self correct for volks
like me who manhandle aluminum?
Help! My new rig has no oil in it, nor presently any prospect for
obtaining any!
