Volks, Somehow, (I was -very- careful) I nonetheless ending buggering the threads on my oil drain plug threaded hole. The plug (steel) is fine of course, the hole has some threads, and will accept the plug, however I don't feel very sure about it long term. I was told that the FLAPS should carry a "kit" to put in an insert between the plug and the now marginal aluminum threads of the drain plug hole. Anyone done this and then repaired? I remembered stripping motorcycle spark plug holes when a kid and doing the Heli-Coil thing, what a hassle. Does VW sell a larger, self-tapping oil plug to self correct for volks like me who manhandle aluminum? Help! My new rig has no oil in it, nor presently any prospect for obtaining any! FLAPS? Dealer? Helicoil ? (Please say No) Larger Self-Tapping Plug? ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> Shalom Mark B.
