Yvan,

In B.C. they are pretty flexible about camping in picnic grounds which are
designated as "No Camping".  They understand that when the campsites are
full you have to stay somewhere.  You should be forewarned that even in
picnic grounds you may get charged a fee.  We stayed overnight in a picnic
area when the nearby campground was full.  At 06:00 the next morning a
government parks employee knocked on our Westy and very politely demanded
payment for the overnight stay.  She was very pleasant and understanding
but collected from every vehicle sharing our situation.

There are forestry sites that are usually in the more scenic and remote
settings.  Perfect sites for Westys and are Free, Free, Free.  Really
helpful forestry maps are available free from the individual forestry
offices.  One central source that has maps for all areas is Cycling BC.  I
don't have their web address but a search engine should find it.
