Volks, Problem solved! Went to Foriegn FLAPS, they offered the rubber emergency dudes, I said "Nien danke-shen!" (forgive spelling). I went to "normal" FLAPS and they sold me a 1/2" "Number 2 oversize" self tapping plug with a smaller inner plug that plugs into it. I coated the threads near the base with Locktite Copper form a Gasket, and screwed that baby in. Result, no leaks, no drips, no errors! And now I have a steel on steel drain plug (albeit 3/8" head). I am very happy with this rig. Cost: $4.50 tax and all. I did put four quarts through the new rig with out the new plug out to flush any threads cut in installation. Some did come out. The last quart ran clean so I'm done.
