For anybody thinking about swapping motors I just found a magazine at Borders that might be useful. Its title is VW POWER, it is a special put out by European Car mag. In it is a section on swapping watercooled motors between various sedan body styles but it has a chart that shows all the years of watercooled sedan engines, their sizes, horse power rating and features(like injection, lifter types and valve configurations). It helped answer my question about what year has what horse power. I think I need to find an 88 Sirocco 16 valve motor for the 80 Westie I am going to offer 300.00$ for. that is if the guy that owns it hasnt sold it yet>
