Success Removing brake fluid reservoir!

Greetings fellow Comrades!

It seemed difficult at first, but once I removed the master brake cylinder (beware, Syncronauts, of brake fluid flowing out of every possible orifice!!) and this wasn't very difficult, just messy! Then the reservoir just popped right off, with a reasonable amount of force! And I'm glad I did remove the cylinder, as I can now see a pool of brake fluid sitting in the brake assist booster?? (That big black round disc that is attached and behind the master...)

I wonder what this means?? I guess I need to replace the master after all?? It must be leaking into the booster??!!

Working on this syncro has been like peeling back the layers of an onion, the more I peal, the more I find.... problems, that is!! And you sure have to have the mentality of Sherlock Holmes to track down all these problems, from a few sparse clues, also the patience of a guru to not get frustrated when you've got the whole car apart and more problems at every turn!! Thank god life is so long! (You'll need it to fix your Syncro!)

But aahh, the pleasure of knowing you fixed it yourself!! And that you did it right, and if you broke anything else in the process, you fixed that too, rather than covering it up, like some of the previous mechanics who worked on mine did!

Cmdr. Syncronaut Peter Igo '87 Westy Syncro 70K?
