Thanks, *************************************** Speaking from experience with several VW Type 2's (including two Vanagons thus far) and a host of Beetles owned for over 3 decades, my personal opinion is to stay away from rebuilts. Go with a new, especially if you're gonna hang to the vehicle for a long time. Replacing the MC on a Vanagon is the most challenging of any MC I've ever replaced and I certainly wouldn't wanna do it twice within a year's time, much less two or three years. In fact, I've never been able to get a "rebuilt" to last much longer than a year, even on an old Chevy Monte Carlo I useta own, so 2 to 3 years was a bonus ;-)

LIFETIME warranties in my view are a "gimmick" to bring a customer in IMHO.

Brand new one's are available from me for $129.00. And yes, there's a One Year Warranty from the GERMAN manufacturer too, but I'm sure it will last long after you've sold the Vanagon for another one and a lot longer than a rebuilt.

When it comes to brakes, I put my life and quality before price, pure and simple.
