i found some old but pretty fabric packed away, so i cut squares to fit my windows of my 87 syncro. i then put velcro tabs on the window (actually, on the half-inch of car around the window) and put the matching velcro pieces on the squares of material. when i need to sleep or have privacy, i just velcro the squares in place, and i have custom-made, easy-on/easy-off curtains. i did hem the squares, and in the process, sewed on the velcro tabs for extra security, but it looks nice and functions well.
