Subject: Backwards conversion?

Has anyone ever done a conversion from gas to diesel?

I have had Diesel rabbits and Jettas for many years now and I have also had my Vanagon. I love my Vanagon and even though I promised my wife 2 years ago I would sell it. I still sits in the yard waiting to be reawakened. There is nothing wrong with it. I just changed jobs and I now commute about 120 mile aday. Cost too much to drive that kind of distance so I got a diesel Jetta. 50 MPG at $1.08 a gallon works out to a lot less bucks a week in fuel. Well my long commuting job may come to an end soon and I will fire the Vanagon back up.

I love my van but I wish it were diesel.

Has anyone had a Diesel Vanagon go over 100,000 miles with no major failures? The Jetta has 210,000 and goin strong. I realize the van has a hell of a lot more frontal area and weight.

Oh Well

Thanks for listening
