Subject: Anyone using Yakima racks on Rear hatch?

I saw a Westy not too long ago with Yakima racks mounted on the rear hatch. They were the non-raingutter type and they didn't have any attachments for gear. Has anyone mounted their racks like this? If so, what clips did you use? Do the struts support the extra weight of the unloaded rack? I've been looking for a cheaper alternative to the Paulchen racks and thought that this might just be it.
