Hello

I was wondering if any other people can hear their transmissions gears as the car is driving, particularly the ring and pinion I think. I did recently put larger wheels and wider tires on my van. went from a 205/70/14 to a 215/55/16, it doesn't look like much on paper, but it is a lot wider tire. I was wondering since I put a bigger tire and wheel on, the diff or Ring and pinion is experiencing higher loads and therefore higher wear. I also just cahnged the gear oil. I filled ith with valvoline durablend 80w90 semi synthetic gear oil and also threw in Prolong's transmission treatment. I don't know if this is advised to put additives in. This noise is farily recent and has been seeming to get a little worse, it isn't incredibly noticeable, but to the careful ear it can be heard. Any ideas or comments? This may have been a previously discussed topic, if so, please refer me to the archives, which I have no clue as to how to access.

Thanks!

Joe
