They aren't super rare like Porsche 356 Speedsters, but they WILL BE if everyone keeps crushing them and ripping them apart for $$$. Attrition (rust, accident, etc.) takes enough off the road already. Every Van that is crushed or dissassembled is one less chance to serve a new happy VW owner, or one less chance to replace your wrecked van.
