To one-n-all: This is the second and final chapter in my short saga attempting to deposit a non-US check (approx. $14 US) with our bank. In the last episode, the bank returned the check and graciously fined me what appeared to be $19 US. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you can talk to a human being in person (as opposed to a 'distant' [literally & figuratively] voice over the phone). My bank (according to the bank manager, whom I had a pleasant talk with) will accept for deposit checks from practically any country drawn up against any recognized currency ... they'll even accept a non-US currency cash deposit. There is no special charge for this service. So, if our non-US listees want to send donations and DO NOT want to incur the expense of purchasing an International Money Order, etc., etc., your personal checks ought to work.
