It's not quite in SF proper, but I'd say it's worth the trip to San Anselmo. The place is called Valley Wagonworks and they specialize in buses and Vanagons.

They have started to make a web site, but it's still under construction. http://www.wagonworks.com/

I used to work with the owner Coby as well at Roger who sometimes runs the place during Cobys vacations. They know VWs very well. In the 10 years that I've known them, my experience has been that they are honest and fair. I recommend them highly.
