Volks, I have been expierencing a problem similar to the hunting idle problem I've been reading about that was fixed by the idle stablizer. Except that my problem did respond to a hard jab on the accellerator pedal with a quick release. This would get the idle to return to about 1,000 RPM but never the 850 the book says............... so me thinks its a weak return spring or pedal linkage needs lube.................. Well its neither the accelerator cable has chaffed thru the white plastic housing that it is enclosed in!!!!!!!! Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix my local parts guy says that its not available................... does anyone out there have a good servicable new or used one..............??jim, kyle, ron .. has anyone fixed this with locally obtained parts (i.e the hardware store, etc.)??? would appreciate any suggestions Joe Hunt 81 Vanagon |
