I recently put a rebuilt motor in my 81 Westy. I bought a new battery for the initial start. My problem is the motor turns very sluggishly! I initially thought the battery was bad, but had it tested today. Question - Are new motors generally stiff at break in? Shouldn't a new battery be able to turn a new motor fast enough to start? How do you keep from running the battery down when conducting the diagnostics. The van will not start.....its getting a spark at the coil wire....I will be checking other electrical components and the fuel pump later. Right now, just worried about the stiff, sluggish motor.
