I replaced the mainshaft bearing on my syncro transmission, without having to tear the transmission down too far. Went at the bearing from the front. Would have been a good time to go at that 3/4 clutch gear too, but I didn't. Pretty much standard tools, and a loaner bearing puller from a BMW dealership.
