A special Westfalia thanks to Don, Jim, Fred, Marcus, Jeff, Bill (did ya get my check?), and GM for the skinny on why I like to drive around with the heater blasting. Driving around with the whole family, dogs and cat sweating/panting buckets seems to me a small and worthy price to pay for engine longevity. So, is the Vanagon temp. guage more sensitive than most other autos? I don't recall my VW Jetta's needle moving that much or that fast when I crank the heat in it. Same goes for my Mitsubishi Montero. That's the real puzzler to me. It looks like it'll be a long, hot summer in the pilot's seat! (just kidding) So, if you see a naked Westfalia-load of Alaskans stopped at Ye Olde Local Ice Cream Shoppe for a cool-down, c'mon over and say "Hi". Thanks again Volks!
