Subject: Hatch strut problem
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com

Folks,

My new '87 Westfalia has sagging hatch syndrome and I wonder if the rear structs have to be replaced or if there is any way to fix them. These look in great shape, no rust of even significant dirt on any part of the struts. Just seems like there has be a way to fix 'em up...

I checked the archives and found some dated info on replacing them and so also would like to know about decent mail order sources of this part. Teutonix1@aol.com is no long a valid address and I did not see any other sources that are national in scope or serve the Intermountain West area.

Thanks,

Rob, -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rob MacLeod, Ph.D. 1475 Michigan Avenue Salt Lake City, Utah 84105 ____ __o Internet: macleod@cvrti.utah.edu ____ -\<, Phonemail: (801)583-2855 ....0/ 0 Fax: (801)581-3128 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
