Subject: slave cylinder movement tolerance (87 Westy Syncro)
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com

In tracing my clutch problems, I did notice that there is a bit of movement with my slave cylinder when the clutch is depressed. I haven't gotten in to see if there are any bolts missing, etc., but the cylinder jerks about 1/2 or a bit more of axis when the clutch is depressed.

Anyone think this might be the cause of my clutch problems (I know I have to isolate it to find out and I will, but wanted to pose the question)? Could there be any correlation to gears with such a problem (i.e more likely to kick in when shifting from 4th to 3rd)?

Thanks!
