Hi,

fan has two speeds, 83C and 95C temperature settings. low speed is 'quiet' little vibration in my '87, but high speed is like a jet aircraft and shakes a bit (not the whole dash though) My low speed switch has died, so I have a new unit to install. SOunds like yours is same, low fan is hard to hear in traffic. For those in hot areas, or for Syncros off-roading I am thinking that splicing into the low temp side wires and putting a dash switch would allow me to chose when the fan runs, a pre-emptive strike. Any thoughts/negatives on this, besides the obvious 'why bother?'

Last word... Jetta etc switches are identical, except for temp range. Cheesy dealer (gone now) sold me one, low is 95C, high is 103C. Kick me.

bye, Tim
