Subject: One More Tire Question...
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Hello Folks,

I have perused all the threads/messages on the tire issue and have been thoroughly convinced to buy light truck tires. But I have a few questions which don't seem to have been asked before.....and with my upcoming trip to the Great North (AK), I have some concerns.....here they are:

1) Don't light truck tires by their very nature produce more road noise? With a 5000 mile trip, I don't want to introduce any more aggravation than the two teenagers, wife, cat and pomeranian......

2) With the high pressure and rigidity of the truck tires, doesn't the ride comfort suffer?

3) Being consigned to retaining my 14 x 5.5 inch wheels, what is the best size light truck tire to use?

4) I am looking at the Goodyear Wrangle GS-As which are on sale at Sears right now....has anyone bought these? If so, how do you like 'em?

I appreciate any and all comments on these issues. The list has been terrific in helping me prepare for my journey to Alaska. 52 DAYS TO GO!

Thanks in Advance.....
