I am having the automatic tranmission and final drive on my 90 Westfalia
checked for problems early next week here in Toronto Canada. I was just
wondering if any list members or suppliers have either or both available
(New , rebuilt or low mileage) and for how much before I have to discuss
this with the mechanic at Owasco. I have leaks from both and a severe whine
from the final drive ( The PO had it serviced regularly at a vw dealer who
never checked the final drive which was empty when I got it. There are
180,000 KM on it. Any insight, suggestions comments or good deals on either
unit will be much appreciated. I will report on the outcome next week.
