Yes, this is true............BUT

Extremely few P21 Westies (commonly known as a Westy Standard, that's right) were ever sold in the US, at least based on the Serial Number Data I have, a lot more were sold in Canada. I have seen ONE P21 Westy in my entire life (8 years ago) and haven't seen one since and in my line I've seen hundreds - come to California they're all over the place - especially here in Redding from April to October it's Westy Heaven on some weekends at Shasta Lake, Whiskeytown Lake, Lassen Volcanic Nat'l Park. Sit on a bridge overlooking I-5 for an hour - lots of 'em going north and south.

BTW the P21 I saw I saw 8 years ago was originally sold in Canada.

But yes, they're out there, far and few between. As a collector's item I wouldn't mind having one in the stable. But I've got enough VWs to take care of as it is.
