Well, I just checked my '73 westy... the color code sticker (which has a chunk missing right on the first two # of the paint code) shows mine to be leuchtorange. This according to several German-English dictionaries (one paper, one on PC) means Bright/Shining/Luminescient Orange... I believe the dealer shows it listed as Bright Orange.

As all variations of Sunkist or Pumpkin were taken at the DMV, my Daughter named him "Julius". This year is the first year that he is eligible for Antique plates and we can use 6 letters/numbers here in NH, so that's what's going on it. She has written several letters to the Orange Julius co. requesting Advertising materials, with no response. Anyone out there an Orange Julius Franchisee??

Several months ago I looked at a dark Orange/ Burnt Umber colored '84-'85 Deluxe Westy outside Hartford CT... unfortunately was not able to get a look at the Color code sticker..
