I doubt if that color was an authentic Vanagon color, but I have seen an '80 (repainted) that was the same disgusting clementine orange as two '74 Super Beetles that a couple of friends of mine drove. (they're both kaput now). That VW orange looks kinda funky after you notice the telltale "engine running hot" soot in the back. :(
