My 1981 Vanagon Westfalia "Basic" model has no stove, an icebox instead of refrigerator, a sink and water tank, and a full width rear bench seat which seats three and gives much more room when folded out for sleeping. The cabinetry along the left side is somewhat different from the "Deluxe" model. The icebox contains a shelf to hold the ice which drains via a plastic tube to the underside of the vehicle. It does not have the auxiliary gas heater.

I am the third owner. If the previous owner can be believed, he purchased it from the original owner, who bought it in Arizona. To my knowledge the only interior modifications were those involved in the AC installation performed after importation into the USA. It is otherwise an unmodified Westfalia interior.

Yes I would like the additional toys, but a coleman stove and a bag of ice get the job done.

Tony
