On Thu, 21 May 1998 19:55:31 -0700 you said: >I'm looking for anyone who has routed wires for fog lights (front and >rear) and heavy guage wire from the battery to the headlights. >Would you share the best route for the wires?

what i did was to get a rubber grommet (generic, available at local parts places) large enough to pass the wires through ... then remove the glove box, and pull down the carpet up under there, so you can see/get to the metal "wall" at the front of the passenger's feet.

this is a double wall (crawl under the bus, up in the spare tire well, and take the headlight grill off, to satisfy yourself that it really is a double wall). :) you can drill a hole in the footwell wall, and run the wires down through the "gap" between the outer metal skin and the footwell wall. once down around the bumper level, there are numerous holes in the bumper-support that allow the wires to go inside the bumper- support, and come out the front, looping back to the fog lights (the wires will be hidden by the bumper).

back at the battery end, i ran the wires under the floor carpet, over into the aisle between the front seats, then up inside/behind (?) the carpet on the side of the passenger seat "support" (that wheel-well-box thingies that the seat sits on). if you take the seat off, you can see the "walls" of the storage box under the seat (except for the campers ... you can't get under there :( ), this part is the hardest ... trying to keep from drilling big holes in the carpet. :(

i made an L-shaped sheet of aluminum, and mounted it on the cross brace metal thingie behind the glove box and mounted the relays and fuses for the lights on the sheet. that got it out of the way of everything, and wasn't too far from the battery or the lights.
