find a mechanic that is comftorable with the EFI. It's easier and
cheaper than changing the EFI to suit your mechanic.

My '90 syncro has 95,000 and i've only had one minor FI problem i fixed
myself it about 20 min.  There are other downsides for such a change
which were recently discussed on the list.  The consensus was that it's
worth going with carbs only if your only other option is to replace the
entire fuel injection system, like after a fire.
