It is with indescribable joy that Evon and I announce the birth of our first
child!  Haley was born at 10 pm Monday, and despite an unexpected c-section
delivery, mother and daughter are in perfect health.

Needless to say, I left the shop in quite a bit of a hurry on Monday
afternoon.  Nevertheless, Nina and Dan have been furiously boxing orders in
my absence, so delivery of orders has for the most parts not been delayed.
The phone went unanswered some of the time, though, in favor of getting the
orders out, so if you couldn't get through now you know why.  Jerry drove
down from New England last night to lend a hand, so he'll be taking up the
slack and answering calls today and tomorrow.

I'm just stopping in for a few minutes to check up on things, and then I'm
off to the hospital again.  Evon and Haley get discharged tomorrow, and I'll
be back at the shop on Monday.

We already have Haley's first Westy camping trip planned, by the way, for
the July 4 weekend. A fold-up basinet inside our Vanagon side tent will
serve as our nursery-away-from-home while at the Great Blue Heron music
festival over the holiday weekend.  If Evon feels up to bringing her, Haley
might even make an appearance at my stand at the Maple Grove, Pa. VW show on
June 7, although I don't think she'll be old enough to help out yet.  :-)
