<< Is this message referring to the '86 and later style of Vanagon rectangular headlights? Are there really Hella e-code replacements available for these? If so, could you give us the Hella part # and the price? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- To: Mark McCulley

According to my list here is what Hella Offers:

Part # 72206 - 5-1/4"x 7-1/4" Rectangular H4 for 2 Headlamp Sys. $45.93 Part # 72116 - 4" x 6-1/2" Rectangular H1 for 4 Headlamp Sys. $44.06 Part # 72146 - 4" x 6-1/2" Rectangular H4 for 4 Headlamp Sys. $44.06 Part # 70476 - 7" Round H4 for 2 Headlamp Sys. $45.93 Part # 71156 - 5-3/4" Round H1 for 4 Headlamp Sys. $44.06 Part # 71456 - 5-3/4" Round H4 for 4 Headlamp Sys. $44.06

The H1 lamps come equipped with a 55W H1 bulb and the H4 lamps come equipped with a 60/55W H4 bulb. Hella also has higher wattage bulbs, but are not legal in the U.S Also, the Hella lights are not D.O.T. approved for use in the U.S. All are marked with the E-Code marking.

I put them on all 3 of my VW's and have not been bothered by anyone.
